My True Blue Dream

Hi Everyone! It’s been so exciting checking out all the grows. This is my first one in my new Grobo. Actually, first one ever!
Here a a few pics from day 5 and day 10. I was a little concerned as one of the leaves look like something took a bite out of it but it seems to be coming along.

Appreciate any imput. High Times!

Looks normal. Most new plants do that i find

Hi. Thanks. But of course I’ve been looking at all the photos on the site for something similar which I could not find so just letting the anxiety subside. I’ve seen plenty looking worse that blossomed so I am hopeful!

Lots of peoples plants on here have that on one of the first 8 leaves. Its normal if its the only one. If you see it every leaf then well look into it. But i think your ok. Looks happy.

I second what Todd stated above. This is most typically caused by the seedling working its way out of the seed husk and getting “scraped” along the way.

@Jewel Hi and welcome! I’m a first grower myself and this forum has been so informative and supportive!

Yes, the support and enthusiasm is great. I am learning so much. If I could just quit peaking in on it (how many times is too many times to open the door?) :face_with_monocle: Lol

Its better than doom scrolling the news.

Absolutely!

Open it as many times a day as you wish so long as you have it well cut off from pests!

I have enjoyed and am intrigued by reading your posts and responses. You seem so interested and helpful. I wonder if I can have a successful grow without extra equipment ex. Hydroguard or other testers, fans, etc. Or should I just take cues from my plant and be reactive? I am certainly not opposed to doing whatever I can for success, I am recently retired and cost is a concern. :sunglasses:Appreciate your input!
Happy growing everyone! :four_leaf_clover:

Morning Jewel, I am sure that you can make it happen with a just a few extra items. If I were to put together a list that I feel are must haves it would be the following:

Reliable air pump, I would hook this up from the start to avoid risk of plant harm/death due to grobo pump failure:

Magnetic hooks to hold top fan and use for plant training:

Hydroguard is a must in my opinion, better safe than sorry.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IGFH25M/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_CUMoFbKNE7H20

Use the following two items to dispense Hydroguard directly into the reservoir with each weekly water change AFTER the grobo dispenses bottles 3, 4, and 5.

You will need this kit to clean and calibrate the grobo pH pen. It is important that you always have fresh calibration solution on hand.

Top fan, use hooks to hang:

Bottom fan, sits on floor of grow space:

USB extensions, to run through the rear door at the bottom of grobo to power fans:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07RQRMGKB/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_H4MoFb0NS8VMT

You may not need to buy these right away but you will want a good set of pH/EC probes at some point. This particular set is cost effective and will last you for years.

Thank you! This eases my mind tremendously and I would much rather be prepared than not. Much appreciated @SWSVIC

If your strapped due to covid19 id say the only required item is the pump. Some of those items can be pricey in canada

Eek! This is my lady 24 hrs after 2nd drain/fill. A few spots and dark colored roots at the bottom. New leaves look great coming in. Thoughts and/or suggestions?

looks like nutrient 4 or 5 were dispensing too close to the roots. Sometimes you have to sorta readjust it as it causes that stain. Keep an eye on the leaves but should be ok.

Will do. Thanks @ToddYYC for checking in
