Ok all, it’s been a bit since I’ve posted. Had a great deal of issues with my unit, but think I’ve got most of the kinks worked out. I also have a small soil grow going which I’ll show as well. Sour Diesel (First grow)

Another update: Adding the smell neutralizing system had an added and very positive effect. The fact that it creates positive pressure in the Grobo means that, along with any smell, it also sucks out heat!! My interior temps dropped about 4 degrees and my water temp dropped just shy of 2 degrees. Sweet! [image] [image] (temp is 68.5) [image] She looks a bit droopy…not sure why. We’ll see how it goes. Added a scrog to the grobo. Loving what I’m seeing in the tent and going to add another scrog soon. Need to come up with some rigid tubing system to bow out the backside. Thanks so much, I think today is a good time to top off in that case since it’s been 3 days now. I’ve been going through bottle no. 5 a lot as well, …is that normal? Otherwise she looks healthy! I want to trim lol but she’s not that tall thankfully so I’m not sure if I need to or not I want to expose as many sites as I can that will benefit as she matures [image] [image] [image]

Hi everyone! How do you actually talk to someone at grobo? I see mention of submitting tickets but can’t seem to figure out how to do it. Hey all! Here are some updated photos after my drain/fill and trim. Today is the last day of late veg so the transition stage is set to start. Update! I have been completely bug free for over 48 hrs now! I did a drain and fill today as well as some small trimming. I topped it last week. The new growth coming in already looks healthier. I will have my ph reader by tomorrow so I will double check the ph in my tank to make sure I dont have a bad sensor, but I’m hopeful that the problem is fixed. I’m day 34 (10 of 14 late veg). This is my second grow in Grobo hoping for a better yield this time around. Last grow only got popcorn buds Now this new girl looks really nice. I have a friend who runs a grow facility here in the States and he gave me a couple different strains. It was never identified where their seeds originated from. From my understanding when the MMJ program was first stablished in our state there was a (30) day window for sourcing their lifetime genetics list. After the (30) days you would not be able to obtain new genetics unless the state provided approval. I was just thankful for the free genetics and hoped to be able to use them one day…

Hello everyone I‘m into my second grow with my Grobo. My first one went really great and the end result was awesome. I‘m very happy with my unit. SWSVIC’s First Grow (Ever...) ILGM GDP

Quick shout-out to @SilverGrobo for this awesome idea: [image] Using a two bucket system and separating the drain/fill tubes by pulling them from the magnet fitting not only keeps your magnet from getting wet and rusting but also allows for a very speedy drain/fill. Simply wipe the tubes dry and push them back into the magnet fitting when complete. (I marked my drain tube with white electrical tape in order to easily identify which is which).

Hey guys, thanks for the help. I’ve only ever used distilled water in the unit; I massaged the line, and used a long sterile qtip and changed the water…hopefully that helps, I’ll keep an eye on it today and tomorrow. My next question is - What should I be doing on her for maintenance at this point? Should I be thinning it out at all? [image]

When to top

Looking for advice on whether to top yet. I’m not sure how to count the nodes to make sure the plant is between 4-6 nodes. In the photo with the arrows I pointed them to what I think are nodes & count five. Then in the photo with the circle I identify where I think I need to top if indeed it is time. Thoughts/advice? Had a slow recovery period in the Grobo but she’s on track now added some revive after calibrating pH probe and adjustments. Soil grow has been uneventful both are topped now. Soil grow is 6 days older but she is going into flower/transition today. Another week until the Grobo flips to transition. [image]

It appears my pH issue continued in the grow since my last update and I had support make an adjustment today. pH was running a bit low causing causing a cal/mag deficiency. First grow with blue cookies!

Did a cleaning and calibration on my ph probe today. The health check said that it did need calibration, so after calibrated it, the health check failed and said it needed to calibrate again. Calibrated again. Health check still failed… Cleaned and calibrated yet again and the health check failed again. I replied to my support ticket about this as I’m thinking that the ph probe is bad, which would explain the rusty spots with a 1 month old grobo. When my grobo arrived, the light wouldn’t work…

Looks like the start of root rot

Not sure how to fix her. 32 days in. I trimmed of two dead lower leaves before taking pics. Roots did not look this brown color two days ago but they were starting to tangle at that point. Now they are dark in color and tangled more. I’ve used only distilled water but concerned that nutrient bottle 1 is basically full and nutrient bottle 2 has a a tiny bit used. Prayer Pupil Clone

Started a clone recipe a few days ago. A buddy gave me a clone of Prayer Pupil in exchange for a Shiskaberry clone. The clone he gave me doesn’t have a lot of nodes and looks like she was struggling before the grobo. But day two in the grobo and I already see new root growth. Sharing journal here. Very excited for this strain let’s hope she can branch out.

3rd Run- Purple Punch Auto & Outdoor grow

I’ve only grown autos in the grobo thus far, and the previous 3 grows took 6 months from germ to harvest. One of the reasons that I initially decided to grow the autos was some of their incredibly fast grow periods. Ive topped my plants always in the past. Growing medicine in the Grobo has inspired me to learn about growing food hydroponically as well. I’ve started an herb garden on my window sill with the intention of graduating to fruits & veggies. I could be wrong, but based on your plant’s small size, shouldn’t you have extended early veg for a couple of more weeks before letting it go into transition? This is my auto on Day 28 (18/21) after extending early veg by a week. I’m going to add another week. Possibly a third depending on how this following week goes. [20200322_224710] [20200322_224656]

Should I add more time to late veg?

I’d say extend til you reach at least the top of the first fan, but that advice is based on reading posts on here, not personal experience as I’m on my first grow. General rule of thumb is to switch to flower when you’re halfway to your desired height. So far I’ve added a week to early veg (there is no late veg in my recipe btw) to my Auto Jack Herer and I’ll probably add another since she seems to be growing really slowly. How’s its going growers, Well back at it again! This time with FS, mephisto take on GSC. Critical Mass Hybrid Fem - Royal Queen Seeds

Germination (Day 8 / 10) couple more days and Lon is coming along, I can see that the tap root has broke thru the bottom of the coco pod as well. I reset all the network equipment and connected to the extender ssid which seemed to be a stronger signal where grobo is located now and that seems to have fixed the disconnects… I suspect its the bedroom doors closing at night that was weakening the signal enough so it couldn’t hold a connection. Germination (Day 6 / 10) Got airstone pump replaced on the weekend , then cleaned and calibrated the sensors last Sunday and started this grow. So today is day 6 of my first grow, yesterday I noticed the seed pushed up through the surface and has a long, white, stalk. The seed hasn’t opened up yet and I’m curious, because I see others with little leaves popping out, if everything is going correctly? Thanks for the tips. [IMG_6443]

Drooping leaves

Grow lights not turning on [RESOLVED]

Today is Day 7 and the seedling popped its head out on Day 5 but I didn’t have time to troubleshoot anything until last night. It’s still alive, just tall, spindly and a little orangey colored. First time grobo-er

Hi there everyone ! This is my first grow in a grobo ( and totally soilless) Have seen good growth so far I’m at the end of the veg cycle day 13/14 Had completed 2 water changes so far. Noticed some, leaf changes in what I thought was nutrient burn…so trimmed and allowed to grow out, most of the older sets of leaves have the discolouration still and the newer growth looks pretty good but some very early spotting. First Grow: Royal Dwarf

I took off the little coco plug on top and saw that indeed there is a taproot coming out of the seed, nice and white. But nothing else so far. I’m guessing this is a good sign still? I’ve only had one other grow before in coco coir with perlite and that one sprouted our after 2 days and grew very fast. So comparing it to that I think I’m just overly concerned

In comparison I have another auto flower growing in a 1 gallon fabric pot, coco coir & perlite medium, lotus nutes, and a Mini 50w LED Grow light. It was really just to do a what the heck experiment. I started to LST that one in its 2nd week of life and pretty much turned it into a bonsai. Though the reason for the early LST was due to stretching of the plant and I didn’t want to re plant it and disturb it. Cleaned up that pic and zoomed in a bit: [image] I’d concur with extending veg until you see the pistils and buds starting to form, then flip to transition or flower. The spotting on the bottom leaves is concerning, how long has that been happening? Also, how long have the leaves been “sagging” like that? Blueberry Muffin - First Grow

Hey man, the spotting on your leaves seems normal to me. My girl did that too in the beginning, But once she got big enough she could handle more. She’s so little still and fragile just need patience and wait for her first growth spurt to happen! I wouldn’t send in a ticket yet and just let her be for a little while meanwhile she gets the hang of life. Instead of trying to chase a problem she might not have. Early Water Change?

Hey @VermontGrobo the amount of nutrients dispensed increases significantly (see picture below showing my first water change in late veg. You can see by the marks on my bottles just how much more was dispensed). I would do a water change because I would want her to get the increased dosage on time and I have plenty of back-up nutes/I don’t care about using extra. I suspect you feel the same [image]

Are you running a water chiller? Humidity is low, air temp is high. Will still grow in these conditions, however you are out of “ideal range”. Can you cool down the room using AC and perhaps add a humidifier to the room? [image] I brightened up your pic a bit. I think she is doing ok. Perhaps put a fan inside to stir air and possibly dry out the pod a bit.

Hi all I have two Chemdawgs growing in DWC in a tent together. Each plant has its own reservoir and they have been treated identical and on the same time line. Anyway, one is drooping really bad. I’m not sure if it’s root rot as both reservoirs have been getting treated with hydrogaurd on every water change… I did check the roots and on the sad plant I did find a small hard black plastic looking thing that I have removed it. Air pump

That’s why I watch TV with the stereo on. I like to party as well. So my blueberry has some rust spots developing. I just had to cut off 2 bottom leaves. I’ll be on day 14/14 early veg. Temp and humidity are good. PH is usually at 6.2. I had the pump on the lowest setting. My theory is: my pump was too low and perhaps there was not enough oxygen for the roots to absorb the nutrients. [image] [image] Does that seem to make sense?

Late Vegetation (Day 1) Fungus Gnats?

So my plant looks good, so far as I can tell. I do have a question though, when I opened the door today I saw little bugs flying all over the place. Where the frack did this little dudes come from!?!? I’ve put a fly trap in there hoping that gets them but there’s quite a few of them. Googling has found that they’re likely fungus gnats, has anyone else encountered this and if so, how’d you get rid of them? [Resized_20200803_154347] [IMG_6612]
